STEM, Steps & a Sparkling Bush Dance- Day 3

Today was yet another hit, the day was bursting with energy, creativity, and spirit. From sunrise to sunset, the site was alive with Guides moving between zones, swapping stories in the Marketplace, and ending the night in true Jamboree style at the Bush Dance! 

The STEM Zone was a hive of discovery. Patrols tinkered, tested, and experimented their way through puzzles and hands-on activities. There were squeals of delight when something worked (and plenty of laughter when it didn’t!). It was all about problem solving and curiosity.  

In the Bush Zone, Guides leaned into the outdoors. The air smelled of campfire smoke and eucalyptus as they learned new survival skills, played nature inspired games, and discovered just how resourceful they could be with what’s around them. Some patrols couldn’t stop talking about the chance to cook and craft the traditional way with muddy hands and big grins to prove it. 

The Adventure Zone was as action packed as ever. Climbing, racing, running, balancing the energy never slowed. Every time a Guide made it to the top of a challenge, cheers rang out across the site. Girls encouraged one another, proving that teamwork and determination could carry anyone higher than they imagined.  

Meanwhile, the Word Zone was filled with chatter, giggles, and creativity. Guides dabbled in storytelling, patrol chants, silly rhymes, and poetry. For some, it was a chance to reflect and write quietly; for others, it was all about performing and sharing their words with friends. Either way, this zone showed just how powerful words can be when they’re fun and full of imagination. 

Over in the Creative Zone, there was no shortage of colour and flair. Paints splashed, yarns twisted, crafts grew more intricate, and every corner was alive with design. Some Guides found hidden talents they didn’t know they had, while others proudly displayed their creations to anyone walking past. By afternoon, the space felt like an open-air gallery of jamboree art. 

As always, the Marketplace was buzzing from the moment it opened. Swaps, souvenirs, and plenty of badge trading made it the ultimate hub of connection. Laughter spilled from every stall, and new friendships were struck as treasures changed hands. The General Store was just as popular, Guides queued up to collect pre-orders, pick up gear, and grab more badges to add to their collections. The steady stream of eager shoppers kept the store lively all day. 

As the sun dipped low, Guides gathered for one of the most anticipated events of jamboree: the Bush Dance. The arena transformed into a sea of movement as boots stomped, hands clapped, and skirts twirled. Everyone joined in with laughter and joy, the music carrying the crowd together in perfect Jamboree spirit. 

The Bush Dance wasn’t just a highlight of the day, it was a highlight of the week so far. It brought together hundreds of Guides as one big family, celebrating under the stars with music, rhythm, and pure happiness.  

And that’s Day 3 done! But the jamboree magic is far from over… tomorrow promises fresh adventures, more laughter, and plenty of surprises. Stay tuned!
