Welcome to the Bush to Beach Jamboree - Day 1

Look how cool these bags are!

Arriving at Camp!

Wow! What a start to the Bush to Beach Australia Jamboree.

Day 1 began with laughter and the welcoming aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The Espresso Roo Café quickly becoming the saviour of leaders and early risers alike.

Over the next week, I’ll be sharing daily updates, reflections, and (hopefully) a few funny stories from camp life.

The main gate opened bright and early, ready to welcome every girl. Registration was buzzing with energy, and soon the girls were racing off to pitch their tents—many of them decorated with some very cool designs.

Lunch at Bunyip’s Inn and Tilly’s Teahouse gave everyone a chance to refuel before diving into the afternoon’s big activities. Later, dinner kept spirits high, with plenty of full plates and very happy campers.

In the afternoon, groups of six or seven dashed around with booklets collected from Bushman’s Stage. There was teamwork, plenty of running, and just the right amount of competitive energy (all in good fun, of course).

The Marketplace opened its doors and instantly became the place to be! Swapping, shopping, and chatting filled the space until it wrapped up in the evening. Pre-orders from the General Store were also ready for collection.

As the sun dipped, Guides gathered at the Main Arena for the Opening Ceremony—a celebration of all the hard work that brought this jamboree to life. The atmosphere was electric with excitement for the week ahead.

And then—surprise!—a flash mob burst onto the stage. The whole arena lit up as Guides joined in the dance, clapping and singing along with huge smiles.

Thanks for joining me on this journey. Whether you’re a fellow camper or a parent following along from home, I hope you enjoy the ride. Stay tuned—tomorrow I’ll share all about our first big adventures at Jamboree!

Oh would you look at that:

A warm Bush to Beach welcome! The iconic bell tent stands proudly at the front gates, greeting every Guide as they arrive for jamboree.”
